another very interesting and appreciatively personal I always had very high GOOD cholesterol until the last time. At my age they were not too concerned. However for the first time in my very long life I am on blood pressure meds.. very low dose. but nonetheless. There was a time when I was on meds for high cholesterol but the side effects were bad so we stopped. Anyway.. a good story as usual.
This may be the strangest of comments you get, but this was all very Deja vu/ warmly nostalgic (it’s strange how it’s this little things like this I miss with her) since my mom went through all of that for the same chronic illness so many times to the point they ended up sending her blood off to be analyzed to look for what meds would work since she had basically hit the check mark on all of them not. So glad it’s working so far and fingers crossed it stays that way.
Enjoy your holiday weekend. Who knows, maybe next week trans fats will be in again and I can eat Nutella by the spoonful as a health supplement with how fast medical science is changing
I am sorry your Mom had to deal with that. It is a crap-shoot, so I feel lucky that I have had some successful runs. I am sure the new ones will help. And let me know when we can get back on the Nutella train. That stuff rocks! xoxoxo
Not everyone would face your health challenges with such “flare” and determination. Thank you for sharing what you learn on your journey to find relief from this unforgiving disease. It’s very helpful! Hoping and praying the new meds work wonders for you and you stay out of the “black box”.
So sorry to hear about your health issues. It sounds like you are doing everything you can to take care of your health. So grateful you have Ashley in the office. May I ask if they started before or during menopause? I'm asking because I noticed more health issues since my perimenopause with dry eyes and increasing allergies. Now I have menopause and managing my symptoms with progesterone pills, estrogen patches and hydration powder (for dehydration).
I never had traditional menopause, because I had hysterectomy at 39. Have been on natural hormone supplements made from sweet potatoes for years. Thankfully those work! Hope you feel better. Allergies change with age and dry eyes are a normal part of being older, so I think it's just the deal.
thank you. I think menopause is different for everyone. My symptoms are different from the next person going through menopause. I think I got an handle on menopause for the time being. Essential to make sure that I have enough sleep. Hope that you feel better soon.
I just got diagnosed with high cholesterol and for me both the bad and "good" were high, but the doctor didn't think too worrisome. She didn't prescribe meds just said to watch my diet and check again in 6 months and that it might be hereditary since I'd said my dad had high cholesterol. She didn't tell me the "good" was bad too... yikes...then I found out my brother who eats healthy and doesn't have any bad habits also recently found out his cholesterol is high. I really think in his case at least it must be for sure be in the genes... For me, I'm trying to cut down on the fried chicken...and hopefully next time I go to the doctor it will be lower AND the insurance will actually cover it. They paid for all the tests but not the doctor who ordered them. WHAT????

Thanks! I think it's all pretty funny. Irritating, but funny.

Health care in this country is crazy town. Makes no sense.
