Wit and Wisdom by Beth Broderick It was a good, long vacation. San Miguel de Allende lived up to its reputation as a mecca for artists and appetites, and Mexico City dazzled. It was a luxury to see it all in the company of the dearest of friends. So many tacos! So much Mescal! So much beauty!
how delicious and how beautiful you look.. san miguel de allande has always been a wished for destination but it hasn't panned out yet. what a dream vacation. happy birthday.
Lovely photos. You have a special grace that comes through very strongly here.
There used to be a restaurant here in Tucson, a haunt of the political class, whose owner was from San Miguel de Allende. He decorated the inside walls with murals of the city, including that iconic cathedral. Apparently, the city's heyday was in the 18th century, and it declined in importance after that, so its baroque architecture did not succumb to the ravages of "progress."
I've never been there, but an ex-girlfriend and my mother have and it sounds magical. I hope to make the journey someday. Thank you for sharing a bit of the place with us, and happy birthday.
