Agree with almost everything you wrote- except for the conclusion that Trump voters knew they were voting for fascism. Some did of course, but most were just voting against inflation (they thought) or against a woman of color. And some folks believed a vote for Trump would save democracy. In other words, ignorance fed by disinformation was the real reason Trump won.
I can’t really know for certain why any individual voted the way he or she did. For all who are not happy with the results of this election and for those who are, I truly wish (in the words of a wise child character) “God bless us everyone”. We will be ok. I believe this because of the young people I am privileged to know who will be our future. I believe this because of hearts like yours Beth. Yes, we must be mindful of government processes and election consequences. We must remain involved. But maybe the best we can do right now is keep fighting on personal and individual levels for those who need our help regardless of political persuasions. You continue in many ways to demonstrate how to do this. Thank you!

yes, I am convinced that most had no concept of the complications they were voting in as they voted for their ONE ISSUE . tunnel vision.
