There is a nest in the pot of ivy that hangs on my front porch. A Carolina Wren has been busy furnishing it, getting it ready for his partner. He frequently swoops in and often lands on the porch light, before diving into the pot, his beak holding a leaf or a twig or some shiny bits of paper and string. He is quite the acrobat and is able to suspend himself upside down in mid-air to deliver his materials. He has chosen well, I think. It is a good spot, fairly safe and well-sheltered under the roof, but this nest will make me anxious. I will fret over these tiny creatures. I have begun watering the plant slowly and carefully with just a few ounces at a time so as to keep the plant alive while disturbing the nest as little as possible.
Beth, would you mind giving me Raymond’s contact information? We need several things done to our home. I couldn’t have asked for a better recommendation! Or, you can give him my information, if you still have it. Thank you!
What a beautiful story! I love the journey, the relationships built and the memories that will last. Thank you so much for sharing.
