I recently read an article, which took a position on a notable incident, that I found well frankly infuriating. This article was by a wonderful and rightfully celebrated author. She is better than good, but in this instance, I felt that she was” eating the hotdog from the wrong end,” which is to say that from my point of view, her interpretation of events was not correct.
Hi Beth, that was nicely done and a timely piece. Curiously, I recently asked a Chinese friend, currently locked down in Shanghai, if "May you live in interesting times" actually was a Chinese proverb. Not according to her. I wonder if it's a remnant of orientalism that we look on occasion to the "mysterious East" to reveal unseen truths. Best regards, Cotty
Beth, I love your writing. You're very talented in many different media. However, I disagree with you here. I think some punishment would (hopefully) prevent any future events that interfere with the celebration of (again hopefully) good, and hardly seen work. And that punishment has already happened, such as it was, so forget I'm even writing this. Best to you.
Well done and so true.
Nicely done Beth.

Great piece, Beth. Spot on.
